Shaykh (Dr.) Muhammad Bashir Imam solih, OON
Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Bashir Solih Al-Fulani (also known as Muhammad Bashir Saliu) was the 12th Chief Imam of the Ilorin Emirate, appointed in 1983, and a highly respected Islamic scholar and spiritual leader in Nigeria.
In recognition of his service to faith and nation, he was awarded the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2012.
He passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the age of 75, in total submission to the will of Allah.
May Allah have mercy upon him and grant him Jannatul-Firdaus.
